Jewelry and the garden

I’ve been wanting a jewelry tree for a while now, but I just couldn’t justify paying $40-50 for one. Consequently, I decided to try my hand at it. We had a storm last night, so there were plenty of down branches to choose from. I just picked one that I thought had a nice aesthetic. I already had the vase (an old olive oil bottle filled with moss) and I just plopped it on my dresser with a few pieces of jewelry. ¡Hecho!

We started a garden a few months back and are just now reaping the fruits (or vegetables) of our labor. Here are the recent additions to our kitchen, straight from the garden:

p.s. we have more cucumbers than we know what to do with. Any recipe ideas?

My Patchwork Quilt

I decided I wanted to make a quilt. Since this was my first quilt, I probably should have started with a baby quilt, but I figured, “go big or go home”!

I used the this pattern from Sew4Home.
